Dr. Micheal J. Bone
DVMDr. Bone graduated Cum Laude from Washington State University in 1975. He moved to Boston where he completed his internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. Dr. Bone then moved to Sacramento where he joined a local partnership of veterinarians. In 1979 the partnership bought the Greenback Animal Hospital, and later the Greenback Pet Resort next door, where he has been Medical Director ever since. Dr. Bone comes from a large family of veterinarians (His father, brother, sister-in-law, three uncles, two cousins, and a nephew are all veterinarians!) Dr. Bone lives in Citrus Heights with his wife Pamela and his three daughters Sarah, Rachel and Laura. They have a golden retriever, two cats, and a pet rat. Dr. Bone is involved in many school and local community activities including meet referee for a local swim club and more recently for the Capitol Athletic League Swim Championship. He is also the P.T.A. financial monitor for the El Camino High School Scholarship Fund. Dr. Bone and his wife Pamela, a horticulturist and former U.C. Davis Cooperative extension farm advisor as well as host of a KVIE TV gardening program for 14 years, enjoy gardening, skiing (both water and snow), traveling and spending time with their children. Dr. Bone is also an avid fly fisherman. Dr. Bone is very proud of the long history of providing seven day a week veterinary care to the community over the last 30 plus years. He is especially thankful for the loyalty of his clientele and their acceptance of the VCA Greenback Animal Hospital's commitment and dedicated services to our loved pets in their times of need.
